21532 After loosening up the veins it builds 20 inches of vacuum, thats a good sign. Still not sure on CFM's
I pulled it apart inside looks good vein’s look good 2 seamed a little sticky I cleaned them up. No direction markings on the ends. I drained the Oiler, when I pulled the cap off, so I need to add...
This is not for Maple, although we do tap 150 on buckets, but for a small milking parlor. I just picked up a DeLaval no 20 vacuum pump. It runs and pulls vacuum but only 10-11 inches. It currently...
I use roxul insulation scraps, cut it into 2" strips about 1" thick and lay it in the rails before I set my pans down in. It needs to be replaced fairly often, but I am able to get scraps for free...
I don't know if they are all like that but mine has a 12" square recess in the center of the steel cage where the forks go around, I made a wood block tight in that hole with a round hole to fit over...
My experience is that those tanks are like mini greenhouses, even if its real cold, just a little sun cooks them. I almost never leave sap in them for more than a day or so, I have a stainless tank...
Thin wall and won't last long, but I could get a season out of it. I worked construction and I had a ready supply of it and used it for years, new every year, and never bought a piece. Now that I...
We had a great turn out, sold a lot of product, just not syrup, we haven't made any yet, took a few orders. Amazing the variety of people and fun day for all.
I don't know about you guys but metalbestos melts from the inside out in a couple of seasons for us, it can't take the heat we put out for that duration. I'd tell the contractor to educate himself...
People have been using cast iron cookware for about forever and it works well if properly cared for. Same goes for your pans, stainless would be easier, but not necessarily better.
Same storm here I saw them running chains on the front, haven't seen that for a long time. I guess going ain't all that important if you can't control the direction.
Just looked at a 30 day forecast and wished I hadn't. Come on March.
Same here, was expecting a small run, basicly nothing. Weekend looks awsome though.
Our taps have been in about a week, nothing spectacular but we got a couple gallons per tap spread out over a few days late last week, I forget how much on which days. Enough to fill the evaporator...

100 in here, 40 gallons this afternoon. The rest are woods trees, may tap them this weekend. Enough to fill the evap, but not boil much yet.
States Vary but here in Maine registered farm trucks are exempt from cdl's up to I think 80,000. No milage restriction unless restricted by inspection.
Here is the Maine...
If you all are interested in meeting, I think before the season would be easier for most of us. Just a thought.
If it gets to upper 60's for many days the holes dry up quick and the chance of it freezing up again are pretty slim. We go to the end usually but I agree I think its about done. Usually we have a...
Right on Revi, works for me too.
We have 130 gallons of sap ready to sweeten the pans tomorrow, or sunday. Plenty of ice in the tank so no worries I guess.
ready or not here we go.
No snow allows the trees to warm faster in the morning and keeps them warm longer in the evening. I think less snow results in a shorter season, thats just from my observations.
I use the cone filters in a Delaval milk bucket and they roll right down around the neck slick as can be. A piece of baling twine hold them there perfect.
