Absolutely nothing doing in Alexandria. Saturday is looking good. Windy here lately.
Finished up some line maintenance today. Going to start hitting them tomorrow here.
I think #1 is actually a Grosbeak.. Pic is kind of fuzzy, but there's good stout beak on that bird. Rare around here. I see them maybe once a year.
Update..
I had to google it. I think you...
One of two things will happen. The price of syrup will rise for everyone (not likely) Or, the city folks will figure out pretty quick they can look around and find it much cheaper. What's to stop...
I've got plenty of wood left to stack.. If he wants to help he can make any shapes he wants.
Good rumble here in Alexandria NH. Got to be 80 mile west of the center. Dishes in the sink started to rattle, then the house got going for a few seconds. The whole thing lasted something like 30...
I've run a Husky 359 with a 20" bar for the last 4 - 5 years. I've got no complaints at all.
team, I prefer Nov to hang pipe as it's somewhat temp sensitive and won't shrink as much in the middle of winter as if you hung it tight in the summer.
Very nice collection mvdeerxing
MV.. I've got two of those one gallon cans with 'David Bascom' (from Bascom's) lables on them. I think they're from the 1960's
Brad, check ebay. There's always old cast spiles and buckets on there. I pick up an old syrup can every now and then if I like the way it looks. I have about a dozen of them now.

Brian, I picked up one but didn't get it set up for last season. I've heard several people say it's good up to 300 taps.
Hi Doug. Things aren't any better up here. I've got something like a half gallon of sap per tap so far. I'm hoping that warm spell in Feb didn't put a wrinkle in things (though it didn't really run...

Definitely waiting for the first boil to sweeten the pans.
Trailguy, I have 3 reds going into a 5 gal bucket that tested out @ 4% on Sunday afternoon. Still not enough on hand to sweeten the pans yet though.
Brian I have a 2x6 and run a 10" stack. Good rolling boil in both pans.
Yeah, I think he was part of some socialist organization.
Josh, Ayn Rand was the ultimate capitalist. Author of The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged etc. I think Bruce was joking re: Nearing.
I got caught up in the hype the week of the 13th during the warm weather. Tapped about a third of my trees and hung the buckets on the road.
Nothing doing. Too windy later in the week and then...
Nearing was a raging capitalist?? What does that make Rand?
Josh, same issue on the Grimm 2x6. It takes a while to get the elbow set correctly. Once I get that squared away it's still a little weepy until the pans heat up. I know Bascoms sell regulators and...
