This is the 18"X36" drop flue I started on a few years ago. There is a local Amish tin guy that makes them and ships them all over the place. I had a lot of fun with it and learned a lot too, but...
I didn't notice you posted this, I just posted something that looks like it may be the same RO on ebay.
Does anyone have any experience with the small 5 gallon bucket RO systems being sold on Ebay? I'm asking for a friend that would like to use it with his half pint. Any feedback is appreciated.

Do you tap any softs? How are they looking by you?
Update. Last night I was calibrating my thermometer and noticed it only seems accurate when there is about 3" of the stem submerged in boiling water. Coincidentally, there are a pair of small dimples...
Bring it up to Trumbull county, I'll boil it!! 😁
I ran across this and thought I would pass it on.

Does anyone have any experience with the gathering tanks that are made by A&A Metal Shop? If possible could someone post a picture? Thanks
My new A&A 2x6 has a port for the thermometer near the draw off valve that is angled downward. It's designed for a 9" stem. Because of this only the lower portion of the stem is submerged in sap. Is...
I have a small squirrel cage blower that is 500 cfm, is that too much or should I try to slow it down some?
I just got an A&A 2x6 drop flue and would like to add a blower. What CFM would be a good size blower for a rig this size? Thanks
At some point the box was opened
I have a box of plastic jugs that are new and never used but are a couple years old. Can I put them in the dishwasher to make sure they're clean before canning in them?
Tapped around 250 today in Parkman. I'll probably wait until the new evaporator comes in then do another 150 or so. Some were running fast and some weren't doing much at all. First fire of the season...
I've done several searches and haven't had much luck finding answers. Does anyone know of a submersible pump that is food grade? I would prefer a sliding float type but that's not totally necessary....
Does anyone know where I can find behlin poly stock tanks in northeast Ohio or western Pennsylvania?
It's looking like I'll be ready around the beginning of May
I turned a store bought shed into a sugarhouse last year for my first try at sugaring so we decided to spruce things up a little this year. Plenty more work to do but I attached a before and after.
Really not bad at all, the cupola does well. If it's cold out some steam will linger in the rafters but i can see everyone in the sugarhouse.
Well my oldest is almost 3 so he helps gather by riding on the tractor and my youngest is 2 months so it'll be a while before he can do much. I'd say it boils pretty hard; when I pay attention and...
I thought I would share a couple pictures of my first attempt at a hobby sized sugaring operation. I’m using a 12x16 prefab shed as a sugarhouse and bought an 18” X 36” drop flue evaporator from a...
I bought mine from an Amish guy in Burton Oh. (no phone) his name is Owen Miller, his address is 15667 Tavern Rd. Burton, Ohio 44021 (tavern road is state route 168). This is my first year so I'm not...
I ran across this article and thought I would share it even though it is a couple months old.
