Cool!
I must have misunderstood and thought it sounded similar to the Coarse rig
Not sure this is the case, pretty sure Coarse in Whitingham VT has the same rig from leader. Double flue pans double syrup pans ..... and double the headache in my opinion. I know he used to boil...
I’d guess it’s the low oil shut down
I had a couple gas powered pumps that if not perfectly level they would just shut down and one had a faulty switch
Honda’s are usually pretty bullet proof
Completely agree. I had the same experience
Unfortunately I don't think I have any pictures. I did it one year with blueboard and a small ceramic heater. It worked pretty well except when it got super cold. I would shut it off then. Now I have...
One of the best things I’ve done is build boxes around releasers to keep from freezing. They will run so much better warm. Plus I don’t need to make another trip to turn off at freeze and on at thaw....
I have used theses. The avocado can be a bugger to clean but with good hot water they are not bad.
No issues
Exactly what Thompson’s said
I used a 1550 poly tank for raw sap for several years. I plugged the original outlet and put a bulkhead fitting in the floor of the tank. The tank floors are prettt flexible and with some pine boards...
Its cheaper in the long run to just get a full 10" rather than add on to a short one. During the season I use a full 10", and when filtering to bottle I only use one plate. Just get some stainless or...
If its a spring ( surface water ) shocking it will kelp but probably not totally solve the problem
If its a drilled well, shock it
recirculate it back into the well with a garden hose from your...
Shipping on any level seems to be a pain in the *** lately
Fernco connectors work good on the Vac side of things. They allow disassembly and have enough deflection that if things don’t line up perfect they can still be connected. I don’t use them anywhere...
Most around me that tap below the lateral do not use check valves. Actually no one that I know of uses them. The ones that I know of tap a considerable amount of their trees below due to over tapping...
No need for check valves. Keep your woods tight and vacuum always on....
I have used an automotive muffler with a reclaimer
It worked fine
I used it pointing down with a bucket under it to catch any residual oil
Best thing I ever did was put heat and insulation where my releaser s are. Between heat from the pump and a small ceramic heater I **** near eliminated any hangups with my releasers. I never shut the...
Maybe just run around each led with a hammer drill to break up the Crete .
Who cares if someone wants s cooler or not. To each their own. They are not right or wrong but if it works for you go for it
I drain and swap my syrup pan after every boil, unless there is zero nitre build up. Then swap and clean both front pans every other boil. I drain and clean my flue pan every hundred to hundred fifty...
I’m with Wim on this. I do exactly this at one area I buy sap from
No plumbing to freeze. Only bummer is have to pump 4 tanks versus a single suction point if it had a drain manifold. We use 1-1/2”...
I put an 1100 gallon poly tank on my 2016 F350 dually diesel and it handles it fine. Its a bit of a hand full when half full due to sloshing but its not an issue if you drive cautiously.
Do the CDL sap lifter have to be drained during freezing temps?
I was told the ladders tend to freeze first is this true as well?
No body
don't waste your time, go with seasonal one time use.
