Tons of niter this year!!! Good luck
Mix it in your syrup, yes it will help a little
Its a different trader crowd for sure, I am rarely on here anymore. I didnt go to show this year, tapping earlier and earlier in Pa and needed to get ready
Adding a second RO tower. A few questions. Is a second prefilter needed? Any plumbing do or don’ts? I would really love the option of running one membrane for low sap days especially early in...
Another vote for dsd. Simple easy to use, never had one loosen
Since your post is unreplyable, I would be remiss to not express my appreciation for the years of advice and knowledge I have gained by speaking to you in person, attending seminars and of course on...
Thanks Murray
How far upstream did you connect your dry line to bottom mainline? Was it a couple feet or more from your ladder?
Yea hard to describe. Ladder is star design with 5/16 tune. Problem is it seems to take a lot longer than other to thaw. All taps that this ladder raises sap from doesnt get any vacuum for hours...
Has anyone had any luck bypassing a star sap ladder with say a 1 inch jumper from wet line to wet line? Seems you could leapfrog the existing ladder with a dry line connector but would that then...
Hey Paul- haven't been on here much this year. We just turned our pumps off today. Really good season for us. Hope all is well and you got on your sled a few times this winter
Mike
Best advice I can give is go visit some in your area. Even for a PA guy like me, people were happy to share design and mistakes they made when we were building ours. Ask to take pictures. There...
Vtnewguy thanks for response. 2.5x8 is what we are looking at. Thats about what we were told from CDL on evaporation rates- they said around 75gph on venturi and nearing 100gph on intenseofire,...
Haha- concentrate high!!!
Looking for people’s experiences with either model. Considering ordering a new one for next season. Thanks in advance
Mike
Also interested in the reasoning for two. That might determine my answer. Also my selection will probably depend on courses, dealer attendance etc
Thanks all, I have an extra sp-22 also that I think I will just convert. Engine availability looks like an issue like everything else. Even predator engines are back ordered
Let me know what you have. Thinking of putting new bush on line, about 400-500 taps. Would prefer a dairy pump with gas engine as electricity is not an option. Feel free to DM
Thanks
Mike
Congrats Zman...long overdue. Have a great season
Mike
Sean- all depends how you want to boil and what you concentrate to brix wise. I used to be able to start my RO and almost match my evaporation rate . I squeezed it pretty good but I never needed...
Would like to see a study on replacing taps vs time til next tapping. In other words can I replace taps now and have the same result in tap hole sanitation or would it be data significant to change...
[QUOTE=maple flats;385422]Find a different source. A car wash equipment vendor will not have food grade products.[/QUOTE
Thanks Josh...not sure how I missed this thread when I was looking back. Bought a Yamada 15BAT with 1/2 inch ports for $540 and free 2 day ship
Anyone run one of these?

Filter gear pump finally went. Is this a suitable replacement if I convert to air? 1/2 inch ports and can take temp to 225 degrees

Good Luck. There used to be a lumberyard around Bennington, VT that carried it when available. I will see if I can find the name unless someone else knows it off the top of their head
