parker, draw off two or three pails off the side you are on, then pull the plug and put in other side. as well as change flue pan!!!. then dump sweet in new side. draw a pail of sap from flue pan to have next to you on floor. watch center tills as you go back to syrup. if making syrup in center add a few scoops of sap from pail on floor to the center tills to push it around. good luck. seems hard but once you do it no problem

looks like you are have some fun making syrup Parker. How's the wood pile doing?
-
Just letting you know I have not forgotten about you. I am still bugging Marvin Jr. for those pics. Hope yer sugars high!
-
Lou- the wood pile is holding in there,,I think I have enough left to make another 500 gallons?I found some more floats-boxes,,scoops and skimmers if you need some,,,
Scott-load marty up in your rig bring the pics and a tank of concentrate :)
Sugar has been high for me this year-2.5% pretty steady,,,lots of times in the past it has averaged 1.6%,,,It is much more enjoyabel boiling and drawing off 5-6 gallons an hour
Ran some here yesterday,,still not hammering, but we still have that 3 foot snow pack, I had a kids thing to go to last night so no boil,,,will boil today,,,I know I make darker syrup and loose sugar overnight,,,,BUT MAN,,,I much prefer boiling during the day,,,just not a night owl.....
