I'm so glad the weather decided to cooperate and dip down below zero. I had collected a fair bit of yellow sap that I dumped Monday, but the overnight freeze cleared the sap up nicely. Will get at least one more boil anyway.

We've boiled sap & bottled syrup 7 days straight. The sap hasn't run all that time, but had enough left over somenights to carry us over. It was a slow start, but we're doing ok now, 94 imp gallons after last night so far. Looks like sap weather will hold for another week anyway.
Sap is still running good here in Fredericton area. Had another successful day boiling yesterday. Ended up with 2 and a half litres of syrup which is a lot for the amount of trees i tap. Trees are giving almost 2 gallons every two days. Turned out to be a pretty good season after all.
Running good here in Halcomb the last few days as well

Finished second batch yesterday, about 3.5 gallons. Started Thursday with 130-140 gal of sap (I think). Total on the year is approaching 5 gallons. Hopefully we'll get another run of cold nights here in southern NB, but sap was yellow on Saturday, and barely ran yesterday.
Hopefully after this snow we'll get a few more days. If weather holds true, should get to collect until Friday. Like others have said, turned out to be pretty good after all.
We finished out 4th batch, from trees in Southern NB, last weekend. It was a nice amount of sap for the week, just over 600L and some more from the trees in my yard in Fredericton. I bottled have bottled 50L this year so far, good enough for me but I will take another 2 weeks if I have too :).
I cannot believe the sap today! I have never collected so much in one day. I collected before work as many cans were almost full and again after work. Total was 284 litres from 60 taps! I've heard others speak of this but never experienced it! Going to be a busy last weekend!
The fellows in Maine were saying the exact same thing today too! Last week I got over 300L in three days from 28 taps. It kept me running!
I took today off to get it started, I hope my wood pile holds out. I see you had a better season than last year Karen. And last year was exceptional, good for you! People that don't make syrup keep asking me when I'll be done, I say when the sap stops running of course, lol.
First boil today....on April 12th!
We dumped the sap we got on Saturday, didn't think it was very good. Had a tanks all full anyway, finished up boiling sap yesterday. Just have to finish off the rest of syrup in pans & drawoff tank.
We're at 160 imp gallons, so ended up with an excellent season. Probably get another 3 or 4 from finishing up. We bottled for 15 days straight, which was quite a stretch of weather for us.
Good Season here too... finished another 12L on Saturday/Sunday, and puts us up to almost 65L on the year. I would imagine the warm weather will kill the season for my trees down south as some of them were dry last weekend when I collected early Saturday morning.
I suspect I will have little to no good sap this Saturday, and will be pulling my taps and cleaning the buckets this weekend.
Pretty good season for us also, we're all done for this year, ended up with about 30 gallons of liquid gold.
The sap came in 2 nights, filled all my barrels once. Boiling wise, I have one and 1/2 barrels of sap left to run through....temps are so warm during the day i had a slimy flue pan this am....almost lost my mind as I cursed my day job for getting in the way of my "illness" ;-) Worked through it and by the end of the day it was all good. I should have 10 gal in the end, hopefully.
Finished up my pan contents yesterday. Ended up with 40 litres of syrup, mostly all dark. Very happy with my little 18X36. Good learning year with it. The end of the season wood wasn't as dry as my bigger pile and I quickly learned the difference dry wood can make. I could get 7gph with dry and maybe 3gph with not so dry. The turkey propane burner was on the fritz so I finished up on the camper stove, very sloooowwww process. Took all day for 5 gallons of sweet. Time for clean up.
Total for 2019 was 12 gal of dark syrup, excellent flavour, not as after-tasty as last year. The modifications and extra insulation to my arch worked very well. My best GPH was approx 30 with an avg around 25 using my rudimentary math.
Now to settle back and wait for next year ;-)
