So once I finish boiling in the snow my buckets maybe full again. Go go go
It's flowing well here too. I think the next week will be good too. I don't think I can recall such a great stretch so late in a season, but then again our season just began a couple of weeks ago!
Yup... boiling all day yesterday. I had 43 gallons of sap and with my 2'x2' pan, I boil about 4 gallons an hour. So if you do the math and you'll see how long i was out there, plus bottling and cleanup. But had a great time with the nephews and music blaring. Total was 1.53 Gallons of syrup. Very pleased with the sugar content of my very small Sugarbush. Best tasting batch of the 3 batches so far, and a little darker than my last batch, but still within the medium amber range.
One of the 12 oz. bottles from yesterday's boil.

Nice looking syrup Michton Tree. Your nephews will not forget their initiation into sugaring. I bet it's the talk of school tomorrow with their friends.
Yes they had a great time tending to the fire and skimming the pan,...but i think they really enjoyed driving my John Deere x530 with the cart, retrieving the five gallon buckets, and bringing them over to the barn where, I had the pan setup outside for boiling. lol
Well driving a John Deere anything is always enjoyable!
what a long and great weekend it was here, around 4000 gal of sap boiled off and not much sleep! And looks like the week ahead will be more great sap weather!
