Looks like we had a bit of a run last night....maybe 50l from 80 taps. Tomorrow and Sunday look good. Perhaps we will boil next week!

We've got only 3" of sap in the tanks from running the pumps yesterday and today. We were hoping to boil on Saturday - now it looks like we'll be doing more camp cleanup and commiserating!

Took water down and washed out the holding tanks yesterday, thought of taking water to put in the pans to do a spring clean up boil(bored) but now talking of another deep freeze coming. More tapping to do, repairs, changes etc.

We need sun !! Darn it , went back and checked everything yesterday in the early evening and I didnt have enough to collect, it was dripping a little but not enough to collect and boil, probably collect what I have either tonight or tomorrow and boil it.

On a side note I installed a back up Generator for a customer 2 days ago and they were the owners of the Warkworth Maple Syrup Bush ( sandy flats ) they just sold it back in Dec I think it was,talked a little about tapping and so forth. It was the highlight of my day lol

I bet the folks that bought that bush are a little scared of what might be a bad season for their first year!

I collected about 30 gallons last night, it was still trickling a bit. Hoping today might be a large day if that sun shines. Happy there is another snowstorm forecast for the travels to hockey tournaments tomorrow!
