tapped in Cheshire
have all my gravity lines and 15 jugs out now. I collected around 22 gallons today. Tapping another 15 or so on jugs and I'll be ready for the season. I was hoping to do a small boil tomorrow before the game. Let's see what I collect tomorrow.
Have fun and Happy Sugarin' :)

Yeah thinking I going to tap this week. I think we are outta the woods(no pun intended) for any really cold weather.
-
will tap this week in Durham, CT.
Update:
Tapped yesterday with 16 buckets and got 15 gallons in about 20 hours. I got very little today though. Need another 20 gallons to crank up the hobby evaporator. Hopefully that will happen before the cold hits. I may put out another 10 taps tomorrow.

My daughter does babysitting in Cheshire each day, she came home a few days ago and said, "Mom, there's this guy in Cheshire, he has all the blue lines up!" YOU. I have to visit school vaca week.

we look forward to having you. I just finished off almost 2 gallons of syrup. Today was a great run as well. Big boil coming up on Saturday. We are blessed to have all these sugar maples in my yard.
-
2.5 gallons of finished product so far. Considering that I would not even been operational until this coming week, I figure I am ahead of the game!
let's just hope that Mother Nature continues to cooperate...
No light amber this year....all Medium amber so far...sugar content is around 2%

I was mistaken in my sugar content. more like 1.6%. boiled down 110 gallons to make 2 gallons of syrup. Today's sap run only yielded 25 gallons.
