Has anyone made a reverse osmosis machine that works? Would like to make one since it costs an arm and leg to buy one. Please provide instructions and knowledge of building this machine.

I am planning to build my own, probably next year as it will cost somewhere around $1 to $1.5K . The problem... no instruction manual or easy step by step directions. So my plan is to check out 1 or 2 this season so I see exactly what I need and how they work!!! They are in hot demand so even if you get a used one they are super$$$$$ . The good thing for me is that a little porducer in my next town town works for a water purification co. and has access to all the parts I may need as he built his own last year and it works great I guess but I haven't seen it yet!!!
who has built his own? i will be building one in a year or 2
I took the last run and made maple wine ...taste good but ended up having little black specks in it..it looks like sand...funny thing is i filtered before i started making it
