Happy Boiling Sugarbug! I sat in your seminar at the Southern Syrup Symposium. Tapping next week here in Southern ohio.
Good luck. I am curious to hear how your season goes
Keith
Just got cheated, last night was supposed to be 22 it ended up being 45. it should be very interesting season. I just don't want a repeat of 2017, total for the year was 25 gallon of sap for 50 tree's.

After a few months worth of work.
Setting up quite nicely with antique wood milled in 1908.
we should be boiling tomorrow.
Tapping here today in Tennessee. Hopefully we all have a good season.
Sugarbug,
You have put a lot of work into saving a old building! Congratulations! You will have fun making syrup and memories in there! I boiled in a building similar for years!
Hope you have a great season too.
Regards,
Chris
Looks slick!! Be awesome to see the steam rise from that open tall peak!!
Sugarbug, my oldest daughter lived near there, in Newport News years ago. I hope you can make some syrup, I didn't think it got that cold down there that close to the ocean.
Good luck to you, maybe the recent weather changes may help you get some sap.
so far this year is a bust, got less than a quart of sap per tree. Last year at this time I had 2 1/2 gallon per tap. Diaphragm pump has not really helped generate any vacuum to help pull when it's a marginal day. Being on flat land I'm definitely needing a vacuum pump for next season.
I have averaged a little over 2 gallons per tap but , its really warm down here right now and I'm afraid its gonna come to an early end. Doing my first boil down tomorrow , 39 gallons raw.
