Not really surprising, I don't know about where you are, but we had no real sun today. Temperature difference is a mandate for flow, but I had frozen sap in my sugar shack till 1:00pm today. There's more than one thing that makes sap flow...Quote:

Been a slow week here; from Monday to this evening only got 20 liters of sap. Put in another two taps, thought I would try a couple on the drop line down to a bucket method people had mentioned, seems to be working well.
Just a headsup to all and anyone who wishes they could force sap from their trees in next to no time...

It was nice to see the taps starting to drip after lunch. As it looks like it is going to freeze up for the next week things should be quiet. Got all of my stored sap boiled outside today (no gale force winds like yesterday!) and it's now on the stove to finish up.
