Just waiting for warm up -- like every body else . Hoping sugar content will remain where it was for me earlier (2.4) Bring on the SAP !
Tomorrow is looking pretty good. I'm in Tioga.
I’m done. Hung a half a dozen jugs for the last week and boiled down 30 gallons in my garage on propane burner. Garage smells great! Just pulled the taps from trees and about to go finish it off in the kitchen.
Any body got a idea what to charge somebody to filter there syrup thru my filter press and let them bottle in my canner ??????

Your arch looks exactly like mine and mine was new (previous owner) in early '91, thus it may have been built in'90. I don't know how long they used that specific casting and such. I doubt it was a new casting pattern in '90.
If you use good cobalt bits, (not just coated) they will hold up much longer on SS. I recently ordered 3 sets from Drills&cutters.com in cobalt. I don't see the exact sets I ordered but they have several options. The ones I ordered, started out being just select sizes to fill in 2 sets I had with missing bits but as I added them it looked far better to just order 3 new sets, 29pc each. The quality looks good but they have not really been tested yet.

Ouch, I've been using one since about 1992 or 93. My first one was a 500 (up to 1/2" bits) then I bought a 750 (up to 3/4" bits) My 500 still does ok, but unfortunately I don't think the diamond wheel is replaceable, that's the biggest reason I got the 750. I only rarely sharpen bits above 1/2" but the ability to change the diamond grinding wheel is a huge plus. I'm on my 2nd one, but barely used it so far. The first one last about 16-18 years.
Correction, I just checked, new grinding wheels are now available. I checked years ago and they weren't for the 500.

That is a really good idea. You have done very well on your refurbish of this arch. Is that a GSP in your picture?

Sweet! Is that a 1016 ? Looks like it found a good home.

Looks like a Chicago, I have an old Chicago 818 and the legs and castings look exactly the same. The Chicago's have a round brass tag with a single rivet in the center located on the right side casting near where the clamping pivot is. Many times they are gone but usually the rivet hole is there.
