You could use what we would call a stainless “milk funnel” that has an extra wide mouth and a larger port that should fit well in the ibc top (you might want to measure to be sure)…here’s one but they make different styles and sizes: https://www.lehmans.com/product/larg...-milk-strainer
We gathered with one of those for years when we hung buckets, you can put a piece of prefilter in it as well
Here is mine on the back of my tractor. My first version was to put a 30 gal. barrel on the back platform. It was low enough for my kids to dump in. Then I had a small gas powered pump to pump it into my tote tank. After my kids were grown and moved out, I started just slinging the buckets directly in to the top of the tote tank. This works well, except for when my wife helps collect. Full 5 gal. buckets are hard for most to sling over the top of a tote. What would happen, was full buckets would be waiting at the tank for me dump when I returned with mine. Last year I made this bucket dump system so that anyone could get full 5 gal. buckets up over the top. The design allows me to dump over the top of it while it is attached.
Its been 15yrs. using this tote. There is a pretty big opening in mine. This make it easier to dump freestyle, and I sometime crawl in mine to clean it. It does get some debris in it, but my sap goes through a sap filter into a bulk tank, then an inline filter to the head tank. Also, I rinse it out after gathering.https://youtube.com/shorts/kq-jYWNsz...WOcSfNGCZ9SbgU
Now that is geniuses!!!
That is a super cool invention. You should patent that and make a fortune.
