If it were me (and it very well may be before the season is over), I would give the JB Weld you mentioned a try. Worst case, you try it and it doesn't work. Then you can go to plan b.
If you don't have sap where you are yet, doctor up your pan w/ the JB weld and boil water for a few hours. At least then you'll know if it works before you are into the season.
Note that I don't think it will hold up on the bottom of the pan though (if it's only rated to 300 deg).
Just a thought.

I have done quite a bit of searching and asking questions about brazing and soldering. I am now leaning towards mig welding. The wire is only $40 and the triple mix gas required is about $90. I am not a great welder but my plan now is to mig weld the seams/corners for structural support and maybe use the JB weld to help seal all the the pin holes that my welds will leave:emb:.
If its not too embaracing I will post some pics but I wont start this project until next weekend.

You are going to be challenged mig welding 22 ga stainless. I would either get a tig welder or solder it. For a one time deal, soldering is much easier.

Just for fun I dropped by the local community college and talked to the metal fab instructor. I showed him my sketch and he said bring the material in next week and he will have the 4th year apprenctices do it for free :D:D:D. Brand new pan for $140.
