2022 here we come, ive got my wood in, my new Evaporator setup and 200 taps in, going to try and get the rest Tapped this week. It's been cold around here. I'd post some pictures but it won't let me Upload. Good luck to anyone following with your season.
Good luck with the new season Nate. I'm helping a friend in PA this year and it's been cold here too. It looks like it will run on Tuesday and Wednesday and then freeze up again for a couple of days. It was originally forecasted to be cold all week.

I've got about half my trees tapped, I went on a snowmobile trip the last 3 days needed a break. I've got 25" of vacuum but no sap coming in, wife Said it's been cold. I'll be ready when it really starts to run.
I've got 3000 gallons to boil tonight, trees are running good, weather looks good here through the end of the month, and beyond. I'll keep my fingers crossed 🤞
That should keep you busy for a little while. Crazy what a difference there is in weather between your location and mine. It's only a 1.5 hour drive.
It's good to hear that you're getting sap Nate. I hope that you have a record season.
Took me 5 hrs tonight to Boil in the 3000 gallons, after about an hour and a half I started making syrup, this was my first boil of the season, and on my new rig. I made 20 gallons of Dark Robust , it is froze up here now so hopefully get a good run the next few days. I was going about 27-30 minutes on average between firing, and evaporating 125-130 GPH I am happy with that. I am sure I can squeeze a little more out of it once I get used to it.
I would be very happy with those kind of boil rates. How does that 5 hours for 3000k gallons compare to your old rig? It would take me 150 hours to boil that much sap off with my little rig and an RO. What did you get for a new evaporator anyway? I wish this site would let pictures to be posted still.
Nate's signature shows that his new evaporator is a 3x10 Intensofire. It's a real nice evaporator for making a lot of syrup in a hurry.Quote:
