Didn't amount to much here. Ran the vacuum pump on for the first time today after finally turning on the water to the sugarhouse. Been reluctant to do so up to this point as keeping the heated room warm has been an unnecessary expense but now sugaring season may be slowly getting started. Probably pulled in a few gallons of sap in a few hours before it froze again from 180 taps. Going to finish tapping over the next few days. Going kind of slow due to installing drops as well, but doesn't seem like there is a huge rush.
Most of my tubing has only been up for 1-2 months but I already have several leaks due to squirrels. We have a healthy and ornery RedSquirrel community here. Vacuum at 26" but once leaks are fixed should be up to 28".
Going to test boil on Sunday and hope to get enough sap through Tuesday to actually make some syrup.
Nothing happening on the line today. The trees in the yard (buckets) started dripping late this afternoon.
The wind laid down here at at about 3 and it ran a little on the sunny slopes. Will hold everything til Sunday and fire up then, hopefully.

We ended up with 44 gallons of syrup back on the 24th after sweetening the pans... The sap ran some today and we ended up with a few hundred gallons.
I'm on the MA border and all I got was a late afternoon trickle out of some sun-facing taps.

well I guess im going to get one more load of fire wood this morning and then go to the woods. I plan on starting the vac pump for most of the day. woke up this am to 27deg here and sun is slowly coming up. Looks like today will be a good running day for me here.

I know I'm not in VT but here in ny its cloudy and 20 out hoping to get enough to boil but not looking that way this is killing me 100%ready and nothing just I will just have to keep adding taps.
