I am looking at a new Condi pump that producers 5cfm at 20hg. It will be hooked up to about 350 taps so should work ok but my real question is any thoughts on how it will operate a mechanical releaser. It seems like I heard some where that you really need 20cfm to operate a releaser properly. Any help is appreciated.

I think you misunderstood. Someone may have said you need 20 inches of vac to operate it but not 20 cfm. Itll be fine. Lots of guys use 5 cfm pumps on smaller numbers of taps like what your doing. Theron

Make sure your tubing is tight, tight, tight. You can pull 20 inches but 1 leak with only 5 cfm could kill your inches of vacuum. With 350 taps on 1 bush on vacuum you shouldnt have a problem finding leaks. And what happened to The (everything I said between my name thing go) roon... I know you must have a note pad full of them. And what the hell happened to the BIG SAP ALERT . Shouldnt there be a test, this is test, only a test thing. You are slipping. Last year you were pitching a tent at this time. You arent down sizing are you?

A 5 cfm pump at 20" does not give you much if any leaway if you have a leak or two or ad more taps. The 1 cfm per 100 taps works great on paper but rarely in the real world. If your buying a new pump I would go bigger and extra $ will be well worth it.
