Monday I purchased a 1974 IH 1700 truck. Owned by a local city, very nice paint, little rust and a nice interior. 120ooo miles on it and probably as many hrs. It startes right up and goes thru all the gear just fine the brakes are a little grabby but there is no load on the truck. So on top of everythinh else I have a truck to prep up for the season. We need to put a bed on it,wire for the electric pumps, work lights and a beacon for our road side stops, a boom for tank collection and the pallet totes plumbed together. How many gallons can I haul with this with frost laws on. 19200 gvw, 700#s for people and fuel. 500# for the bed,500# tanks and pumps and vehical wt of 6000#. And we are not on class A roads?

Firetech,

I got your pm absolutely you can come check out my set up. I have been busy working and hunting to get back with you. As far as frost laws call Linda at shi county road commission she will tell you what you can haul. I don't think it goes by gvw but by tire size and its a 30% reduction of normal loads.

Same thing in Michigan. You can pull a gravity or a hay wagon with as much weight on it as you want.
