Finally finished the Sugarhouse. I started this in September. The outside walls and roof are all rough cut hemlock. I thought I'd post a few pictures. Chris

Nice looking shack. Thanks for posting pics. How does the cupola work? does it slide out of the way during boiling or raise up?

I did the tarp thing last year as well, its kinda funny how maple sugaring makes us do such crazy things. Now you got a great place to make it all happen. Awesome job!! RipTyd

Chris,
Nice sugar house!
Yes I also am interested in how the cupola works? Do the roof portions just hinge up?
Can you get a 3 x 8 evaporator in there? I would start with that size. If you already have 300 taps it would allow you to expand or add some goodies and boil quickly.
Good pictures of the construction. Man hope you didn't break a ankle on those rocks!:)
Regards,
Chris

Thanks! Those rocks were a little tough to work around. I built on a site where an old sugarhouse used to be. The doors are hinged from the bottom and open up in the vertical position. I'll post of picture of that soon. Plenty of room in there for a 3X8. Chris
