Guy's,
I'm looking for three Sunset bulk tank covers. Not the big rectangular ones- the small round "pot lid-like" covers. Their about 7 1/2"-7 3/4" in diameter. My tank is a 545gal. flat top model. Maybe all Sunset's have the same round covers?
Does anybody have any they would like to part with? Or do you know of someone that might have some? Any new or used tank parts suppliers out there? I've placed some "wanted" add's around here locally, but did'nt get one reponse! There must be some out there somewhere...
Thank's,
Steve

I went to the local thrift shop with a ruler and found SS pot/pan covers.

I bought Massey Jack's tank which was missing the round cover. Went into eBay next day on the slim hope of finding one. Shazzam ! $7.25 and it was mine.
Some hub caps fit pretty well too.

Im thinking the nice glass lids from the wifes cooking pans would look nice and would make for easy viewing.

Milk can covers? About the right size and heavy enough not to blow off. Even the old ones (non SS) should be ok as they do not contact the sap.

I used a couple of pot lids for the ones I had missing. You might be able to order thru Fisher Farms, (315) 697-7039, a farm equipment supplier in Canastota, NY. I would rather just get anything appropriate to cover the holes.

I was planning on using cooking pot lids too. I just can't find anyone selling just the lids. I'll have to look into the thrift stores. I even went to a restaurant supply, but what they had would'nt fit tightly like the originals would. They either had too small or too large a diameter lid. I'll look into the farm store. Any idea on what the things might cost new? I might not like the sticker shock from them... I just figured somebody would have some lids kicking around with no tanks to put them on.
Thanks for the idea's guy's.

Got mine off eBay last year. They came up fairly often. So if not there at the moment, give it a chance.

My sister's boyfriend won an auction the other day for me that had two covers. Their bigger than the holes on my tank, so they won't fit tight, but they'll be better than open holes. I'll keep checking.

I found a couple of pie baking tins covered the holes nicely, and it is not hard to drill a hole and add a knob.
