Anyone have any suggestions on where I might find some general stock photos to use on my maple web site until I'm able to use all my own? Two photos I'm particularly looking for would be a 1950s ~ 1970s commercial sugar house and a shot of an "old timer" either firing an arch or testing syrup on an older style open evaporator (no auto-draw off, steam hood, etc). With a bunch of new equipment on order I figure I best get off my duff and get the web site I've been meaning to do for the past couple years finally online.

I may have some pictures you might be interested in, they are from the 50's-60's. I will post them within the next couple days as soon as i get a chance

Mainley- totally off topic what is the status of your sugar bush? Wasn't the owner trying to sell it? Any resolution? Hope things did work out for you- that is a nice set-up you have over there...

Much appreciated MainelyMaple! It may be easiest just to email them directly from my profile page but it's up to you. If they are what I'm looking for they would be small images included in a "my first experience before tubing, RO, steam hoods, & auto-draw off" type page on my site. It's a whole back to basics / try it for yourself kind of thing. I found some early Polaroids in my parent's scrap books that I could copy but they are in pretty rough shape 40 years later.

Here are a few of the pics, if you click on my photobucket album in my signature you will find more old pictures 1/2 way down page 2. These pictures are from the 50's-60's taken by the original owners who built the sugarhouse I use today.

These are wonderful MainelyMaple! Do you mind if I use a few on my own personal site? I will send you the link when I'm ready for final approval which will likely be in a month or two when I'm drinking lots of coffee and playing "webmaster" on my weekends off.

BryanEx-No I don't mind at all, and would love to see your website when you finish it.

Tuckermtn-So far the land owner has only had one offer on the land and it was too low, he is not very motivated to sell it and doesn't expect to sell it any time soon. We have spent our money on equipment as opposed to taps and tubing. This way if he does sell the land our equipment can easily be moved to another location. We now have all the equipment we need to tap out those woods (evaporator, vacuum, storage tanks) so we are more or less waiting for either him settling on a long term agreement, or for us to get in a postion where we could purchase the lot from him.

Well... it's functional but still much to do yet. Take a look at the "Make your own" page to see the two photos I've chosen;

I still have lots of re-writing to do and a few pages don't look quite right but I have all winter to get it done along with loading up the gallery with photos.

Thanks again MainelyMaple and just let me know if you have any concerns about how I've used the photos.
