I couldn't justify the cost of a wire spooler, but realized one was going to be essential for working with 2000' roles of wire so I built one myself. (see photo)
It is relatively simple as you can see and includes a piece of plywood for a base, a 27" bike wheel for the spooler, and two scraps of pine for a wire spool clamp and a brake.
It works slick and I have been able to put wire up very quickly and easily with it.
