View Full Version : No. 9 wire
Does anybody have a source for No. 9 wire besides the evaporator companies? I've bought from Tractor Supply before, but they are in the same ball park for price.

Try www.kencove.com They're near me, 9ga is .07 a foot. I know that Bryon Ianson near Coudersport PA sells items from them, might save you money over a maple Co.

Are you sure on the price comparison? I don't use 9 ga any more, I now use 12.5 hi tensil, but the savings for that at TSC was big over the mape companies prices.

i use all #9 high carbon wire when i do an installation and i pay the price at a maple supplier. WHY? i had american wire in oklahoma test wire for me a year ago and the tensile and psi were much higher than any other i found including american wire. they told me that the wire was better than what the could offer and the price was good. i get the good wire from the same supplier all the time. which matters to me but if you are just buying one roll it may not matter. you just have to remember tsc and companies like them are always changing suppliers to get the best price.

Has anyone else used any of the #11 high tensile aluminum clad wire for mainline support. I have and it seems to work rather well.

I've found that most farm stores, ie: Agway, TSC and the like have the best prices on wire.
Thad, where are you getting your wire? I'm getting the best price at Guy's Farm and Yard. $63.00/2k ft.

Just read in the paper yesterday that Asaph Maple Farms in middlebury center PA is running a sale on 2000' rolls of wire. 35% off leader price. They are probably only 1 1/2hr drive from you. There # is 570-376-5365. I thought the price sounded pretty good.
