I have pine cut to length and stacked and it will be for the 2012 maple season. Is there a way to estimate the volume of wood it will yield once split and stacked? I know it'll be more, just not sure if it's 50% more...75% more than unsplit wood. I have 2.5 rows that are 24"W, 20' long, and 4.5' tall.

Thanks.

Josh, 90 cubic feet per cord of wood if there were no spaces between each log when you stacked it.

Or put another way, a cord of wood (128 cubic feet stacked) should displace 90 cubic feet of water. So I think the figure you're looking for is 128/90 = 1.422 increase in what you have now.

Thanks Todd. I guess I'm sitting on about 5 chord of wood then. Not too bad.
