Ok so I have this old kohler k141 engine and I can't get any fire out of the spark plug. I replaced the points, condensor and now the coil still no spark. I gapped the points to .020 as specified on the engine I also cleaned the new points before installing them. I have also set the timing as close as I could by site using the timing marks on the flywheel.
What am I missing, I'm about to take it to the menonites Dow the street and see what they can do.

use a screw driver and with the ignition on open the pionts and check for spark there. also make sure you have a good plug wire from coil to spark plug
sorry turtlecreek i did not realize it said magneto, my info was for battery ignition

Well they cant dance but they will build you a heck of a barn:) Get your neighbor to hold on to the plug wire and give it a YANK. Does this unit have to ground every time it pulses? Are the points grounded and shouldnt be?

That grounding thing is interesting I'll have to check that out.
I guess I'll be in good company with the menonites because I have 2 lef feet myself!!
