I'm looking at a L3300. The owner says it's 30 hp,, it has loader, ag tires at 60-65%, it is used on small produce farm and the gentleman is retiring. It has 2764 hrs on it and it is 1997. The sheet metal is excellent just a little dusty not muddy. It was always stored inside , no rips in seat no worn holes in floor mat, just a little paint worn off by handle on fenders.I didn't see any leaks a little dampness on top of injector pump by lines. The tractor sat for 2 months idle ,turned over slower than I excpected and he used glow plugs on 80 degree day is this normal? The tractor has 8 spd shuttle, clutch seemed to be to responsive 1 inch up from floor and you are off and running, not sure if it is because of sitting,I guess it is better than having a weak clutch. They are asking $10000 for it ,I dont think that, that is unreasonable. Any one have any suggestions on what to look for or what to watch for on a Kubota L3300.

I would talk to a dealer or go on www.TractorByNet.com in the Kubota forum and ask that question. The hours are not unreasonable and on a produce farm it probably has not been worked to death. See if the guy has kept maintainence records on it. That diesel should go 10,000 hour before an overhaul is needed.

Without a loader, I doubt that tractor cost much more than that new. Seems kinda high to me being 14 years old and pushing 3000 hours. I bought an L3400 in Dec 05 with Ag tires with fluid and a matching loader for $14,700. I know they don't lose a lot of value, but I would think it should be less than 10k.

needing glo plugs at 80 degrees is somewhat normal. My 25 HP ford diesel always starts but I need glo plugs on cold start whether +90 or -30). Once it has been running I don't use the glo plugs unless several hours have passed (like 3-4 in winter and 5-6 in warm weather) Basically I try to start, if it cranks 2x without starting I use the glo plugs
The clutch is likely good, but ask if you can hook up to a heavy load and try it then. If a clutch sets awhile it tends to grab a little (but if the adjustment is that low it should be good)

i agree with West Virginia- I think the price is too high for a 13 year old nearly 3000 hr machine. check tractorhouse.com for comparisons. We bought a 1 year old L2900 ( w/loader, snow blower, ag tires) back in 1997 with 25 hrs on it for 14,000.

In the owners manual for a L3400 it says to use the glow plugs for 5 seconds on a warm day and 15 seconds in freezing weather on a cold start. Also check prices on a new one, as others have suggested. I think the 0% interest deal is still on for most models.

I agree with the others 10,000 for a 13 year old tractor with 30hp is a little steep. I know a few months ago John deere was selling there 30hps for 12,500 brand new with either a loader or 0%. Atleast that was what my local dealer was offering on a 2010 models. If there is 0% still floating around out there and you are willing to dish out 10k you could make alot of payments on a new one before it runs out.

As Jerry said, I glow plug my Kubota every time I cold start it, regardless of temps outside.
