Leaf Attack

Something is eating my maple leafs, perhaps up to 30% or 40% of the leaf area and leaving multiple egg/pulpa cases which is dense, bright pea green and a quarter to half inch long on the underside of the leaf. Anyone have any ideas?

as you walk thru the woods with the sun out does it sound like it is raining? if so saddle prominant catipillers. we here 2 summers ago. the year after the forest tents left
