Marking future taps in areas to be thinned. Looking at 40 or more oaks I can barely reach around. lots more taps mostly reds if I grown into them RO will be a must. Putting blue ribbon on all tap trees you get a whole new outlook.

Not sure, stumpage prices are not very high now and besides they are very regional. You are 2 states away, you'll need to get local estimates or quotes. I don't buy stumpage, just some saw logs delivered to the mill but even then prices are low now. To get better you'll need to wait for the economy to pick up.

oak is the hot sawlog this summer in NH...so is hardwood pulp- atleast for the next few weeks.

Maybe that explains why they're logging my sugar woods. There are some nice white and red oak trees in there.

I just received the bids for the timber sale we are conducting this summer and oak is worth only about half of hard maple. This is in my neck of the woods, pun intended. :)

Oak has been so poor for so long that I've cut some very nice logs into firewood because they are worth more cut and split than as lumber.

As I said prices are a huge variable, extremly regional.
