Well, am a few chapters into it, loving every second. Already learned alot. Also wanted to say that the early form of gravity feed collection i.e. the metal piping with the gooseneck spouts is exactly what the family that I assist is still using to this very day. It is quite interesting.

Wow, their still using that style tubing? Now thats sugaring the old fashioned way! Do you, or do they, have any pictures of it that you could post?

I will check, I dont have any personally. A few years back a student came in from Mn doing research on maple sugarin processes in our area. First there was phone calls t oall of the adcvertised producers in the area questioning how their operations are run. When he learned that this producer uses the old metal gooseneck system, he was on a plane out to research it. HE stated that he and everyone else that he consulted with had never seen the system in use by anyone anywhere still. He was quite enthused.
