I picked up my new sap hauler last weekend a 1943 Ford 9n tractor. It needs a lot of work but i have all summer. I already have the engine tore apart, if everything goes good should have it back together and running next week.

first thing I thought was that you had had a kid- not quite the same, but a 9n is still something to be proud of- at least it won't need diapers or braces...
congrats..
I think if its a 1943 its a 2N. Always thought 9Ns were produced from 1939 to 1941, 2Ns from 1942 to 1947, and 8Ns from 1948 to 1952

Heus is right about the manufacture dates. Does it have a magneto? If it does it is a 2N.

correct after some research it is a 1944 2n.
my sap hauler will be my own two feet. It may change depending on snow. I have an atv and trailer that would be perfect or an old Ski Do snowmobile and sled that it pulls

An antique tractor like that would be a fun way to haul sap around.
I used my feet last year when we were small and it was great exercise walking to the bush a quarter mile away and back with jugs of sap.
Expanding this year though i didn't want to get too much exercise so we built the sap hauling trailer pictured below if you can make it out from all the other machinery. We put barrels on both sides of the center crossbar and strap them together.
I also have a tractor with a front end loader and a Bobcat skidsteer if I want to haul barrels in the buckets. And if I need to be even lighter I can use my cousins ATV.
This year was easy because we didn't get rain to make things muddy and could drive with anything to haul sap once the frost was out of the ground.
