I know someone who is selling there 3X8 raised flue evaporator for $500. It has english tin pans. It comes with the stack, firebrick, scoop, and i think a head tank. He will also throw in a 300 gallon ss bulk tank in the deal. Hes selling it because it is just too big for his sugar shack and only makes around 15 gallons a season. This sound like a good deal to me. I plan on eventully getting ss pans for it. What does everyone else think about the deal? It sounds great to me. :) :) And no im not telling you where he is located.

The arch is probably worth more than that.

Ok I talked to the guy selling it. He said come and get it when I want to. Hopefully next weekend I will go up there and get it. He is friends with my dad so he gave me the option to buy it before anyone else. I can't wait till next season. Once I get it bring on the bigsap that we didn't get any this year.

A 300 gallon ss tank and the head tank that comes with it is worth more than 500 bucks. Great find.

and i thought i stole my 3x8 with tin pans and a 600 gal feed tank w the scoops and skimmers stack and bricks very nice i did pretty well with the 40"x12' (oil fired blllaaaa looking for a wood fired arch) and it has a ss syrup pan and hood and leader preheater, he said he paid 700 for the preheater 6 years ago, and i got a 600 gal tank a bucket of main line fittings and a bunch of used main line (no holes or sadles just straight line) i paid 750 for the lot, the down side is the pans werent cleaned the last 2 years he used it and have an 1/8 to 1/4" of sugar sand in them but i gotta find a wood fired arch and get rid of the oil fired one
