I noticed last night that a couple of my buckets had rust colored sap in them I am assuming that those trees are done for this year am I correct or might they run good if we get a cold spell?

Never heard of rust colored sap unless you have some rain water in them. Sometimes the rain will run down the tree and turn the sap to where it looks a little like the color of the bark. I think you did mention in a earlier post that you had a lot of rain. :?

Yes, usually that color comes from the tannins in the bark.
Usually doesn't hurt too much, though I'm careful to watch and see that those bucket don't have 2x more than the rest. If so, I dump them out as they are mostly rain water.
