I'm getting ready to change out the 4 4" membranes on my RO. Would it make more sense to buy 1 8" with a canister or just stick with the 4 4"?
Any thoughts for or against?
i think 1-8 is equal to something like 6-4's.
dow website has the info on active area of the membranes.

If you already have the pressure vessels for the 4" membranes it would cost less to replace the 4" membranes than it would to buy an 8" tower and membrane. If you don't a tower with recirculation pump and 8" membrane would be a nice upgrade.

This spring I got a price for an 8" tower w/ membrane and it's in the neighborhood of $6000.

WOW!!! That makes the decision easy. The membrane is less than a $1,000. so the tower is over $5,000?!?! Is it gold lined?

Anybody know who else may sell an 8" tower other than maple dealers?

Lots of places sell membrane housings, but it appears that only maple companies sell housings with built in recirc pumps. There in lies the problem and the price.
