Talked to 2 retailers that I run with and 1 did 190 gallons down from about 325 in 09 and the other is at 350 from 600+ last year. I lent my vac pump and releaser to the one guy for his gravity woods and he said it saved him.

Last year I had 10 taps in the yard and made 3.25 gallons of syrup. This year I had 50 taps and made 7.5 gallons of syrup. I was expecting a total of about 10 gallons based on a 0.2 gallon per tap average, but ended up at 0.15 gallons per tap. Part of the problem was that my red maples just never really ran this year.

By far it was a bummer, lots of work lots of ceaning for 51 gallons of syrup.Mostly med to med-dark.Next year I am going to go with a real vaccum and maybe a few more on the line. What the heck it's better than a sharp stick in the eye.LOL

This was my first year and I had 14 taps all on Sugar Maples. Made 2.5 gallons of syrup. Only had taps in for three weeks but I thought it went ok for my first year. My wife thinks I'm nuts!

I made about 61 gallons out of about 300 trees I was hoping for 75-80 gallons so I dont think I did too bad compared to most people around here who are at half of normal Ive got enough to fill my orders and make my payments so Im for the most part happy

Wives figure we are nuts no matter what we do so don't worry. As long as you never wrecked all her pots and pans and such your okay.

Naturally going from 18 taps to 110 made for a big increase in syrup so it seemed like a great year for us. Had about 4 gallons of syrup last year and almost 30 this year. Sugar levels are really great from the 2 bushes I worked in this year. Now I want to see a "normal" year, if there is such a thing, and see what we get.

Ended up with 31 gallons off of 240 buckets, which was only .12 gallons per tap. All very dark also. Can't compare it to last year because I was just starting out.

This year we put in vacum on 1800 trees and buy sap from another 900 trees. Made about 1000 gals of syrup. Last year had had about 1500 on pails and made 625 gals. Over all dont no if we had a good year or not with having more trees plus vac. Hoping the price will go up some.

We had 1340 taps with bags and pails, averaged 9.5 gal sap per tap and made 415 gal of syrup. Nothing like last year but not bad for as much warm weather as we had!

30 gallons of syrup with about 450 taps gravity & pails mostly reds. It was a tough year with no sap. I had many sleepless nights with the no sap anxiety. Hopefully 2011 will bring better luck.

70 gallons of syrup from about 350 taps on gravity. Mostly Sugars. All dark and some slight off flavors.?.? LOTS of extra firewood.

I made almost 25 gallons this year off of 200 taps and the syrup taste way different then last yer. Took me 13 to 15 hours to make a gallon of syrup last year and this year took me 4 hours or less to boil the same amount of sap so I was makeing 2 to 3 gallons at a time instead of 1 and the taste came out different and it's lighter also.
