I live on the border between Canada and NY. I have always liked the cans the syrup producers sell there in Canada. Im considering getting the ivesway manual canner and canning my syrup that way. I hate plastic jugs.

is it difficult to put hot syrup in these and put the lid on?

why do you see these cans so much crossing the border?

thanks

What surprised me was you fill the cans upside down. Can't be all that hard to do if these guys around here do it.

My first year with real eguipment, I bought everything from Dominion Grimm $99.99 for 200. cans with lids.

I filter then can hot ,wear a glove on left hand only found it easier to manipulate and place lid worked flawlessly, this canner has two sets of rollers ,just turn the handle 21 times and your done, I just place them apart to air cool.

21 times. Thats a lot of turns. I was told that it was best to dump the cans in water to cool fast so it dosn't darken as much. I would do the cans as they are cheaper then plastic bottles and everybody asks for the things any ways. Quebecois are set in their ways when it comes to sirop de erable.

looks great Gary E. I purchased an Ivesway and canned 7 gallon worth today. Next year i will can right out of the evaporator, but this year i didnt have the cans yet.

I really really like the cans. I got blank cans as the quebec lithograph dont work here in NY. My family and I are working on our own lables. I ordered from HOUSE OF CANS, enamled cans. it was closert to a dollar can including lids. you got a great deal on the grimm cans.

We got the 28 ounce cans, three ounce short of a US quart, and some of the canadien farmer can size (19 ounce)

thanks Ken p!
