cone or flat filters

I'm looking for an in formal servy of the perfered filter method. I currently use a cone with perfilters and was thinking about flat filters. What seems to be most popular?

Most people use the flat filters as they have a ton more surface area as you can lay then flat. You will need something that you can use the flat filters with such as a large deep pot or pan that you can spread them out on and use them. :D
