A friend of mine was telling me that there was a guy that was selling 5 gallon cans for syrup and the cans were made in china and there was lead in the paint used for the cans and so the guy is out of business and in law suits. does anyone know about this and what type of cans contained lead paint???

Do you have any 5 gallon cans at all. Have only ever seen the 5 gallon plastic jugs so far around here.

I do have a few 5 gallon epoxy cans but hate them and will never buy them again. they rust very easy. and I can't get them to seal good either. so I have switched to the blue plastic ones like everyone else. but I still have about 10 gallons in them I don't know if these are the leads ones or not but I am going to switch them out anyway.

I got a bunch of epoxy lined drums that I want to get rid of for the same reason Red Maples said.
Should I just bring them to the dump or are they worth anything?

I'd put them on craigslist before bringing them to the dump

I will save few they make good oil collecting barrels for the tractor and stuff can be used to make a nice oil reclaimer for vane pump. if you cut the top off th can and put some holes in the bottom it can make a nice firebucket for ice fishing. I am sure I will find uses for them.
