sticky syrup

Yes, getting near the end. Last batch seemed sticky and stringy. Tastes good, but more like maple candy, but hydrometer said syrup, like I always have done. Evaporator did sit for a few days with sweet stuff in it. Anybody ever had this. First time for me in 20 years.

Sounds like ropey syrup. It happens when the sweet sits for a while and has a chance to get bacteria in it.

Dont mix it with the other batches keep seperate.

I had 2 batches turn out this way, cant think of anything I did different than in the past. if i boil some water and add it in will it fix it?

Adding water to it won't fix it. I don't know of anything that will. Some packers will buy it as commercial syrup and others won't touch it.
