I am looking for a filter press for next year and am wondering what size i need? 1300 taps this season, could have 2000 in '11. i don't want to outgrow it. Thanks for any advice!

I agree with that. Also you can make some spacers out of pipe to slide over the rods to let you operate it with less plates if you want to run a small batch through without wasting papers.

If you are going to get upto around 2000 taps i would go with a full 10" press. There isnt that much difference in price and you will be able to get about twice as much syrup through it.

Make an offer of $500 they might go for it. Wonder if it will filter a 1,000 gal on a set of papers??
