I was wondering how you find property with a large maple stand already on it? Someone mentioned gps but the pictures around here are in the summer and all the trees look the same. I was hoping to get some land in northern IN because prices here in northern IL are too expensive.

Also what is a reasonable price per acre to look for?

go to local airport and find a pilot with a small plane looking for something to do...buy him some gas, and time it so you can head out when the sugar maples are starting to bud out- lime green ish- go for a flight and look for pockets of color- write down on map.. find owners...can't take credit as this is a technique Parker has used in past...

also post an add on craigslist...
