Well looks like a good part of us in Mass are frustrated by the weather and are near done or done already, Had a thought while doing no boiling of course. what about a spring/early summer meet and greet? I'd like a show of hands whose interested. I can host here at my place anyone from the area that are interested or further for that matter not just Ma. maybe a saturday or sunday once everything is wound down, cleaned up put away till next season. maybe a pot luck bar-b-q and boiling sodas...shoot the S$#@ and talk maple with each other

that sounds good. our bee meetings are held once a month at a different members' houses in the summer for a chance to see and talk about their bee setups. the organization pays for the main course meal and drinks then everyone else brings a side dish or dessert. they hold it on a friday nights so no one overstays their welcome i would guess. but its great and informative too.

Cool! We'd like to come. We make a good maple BBQ pulled pork.
Our trees have shut off over the weekend. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
Have about 4 gal of sap left. Should make about 1/2 a cup. Woohoo! I'll throw it in the pulled pork.
Next: Bees and chickens. Might as well plant some peas too.

Are we willing to bridge state lines? Connecticut Maple hasn't sanctioned an official "Roast of the 2010 Season" yet, I'd certainly be willing to bend a few peoples' ears.

Not sure what Dave you were looking for..... I acutally boiled for an hour tonight! I couldn't believe it - the taps were dripping today when I went to check the lines and buckets around 5PM. So I collected what I had and figured I'd get rid of it. If it doesn't get cold enough tonight, I'll finish the sweet on the wood stove pan tomorrow and start the clean up. Still can't believe were done - it's only the 16th! This should be prime time!

Great idea. If it works - schedule-wise - I'd make the trek.

If I'm free, I'll definitely make the drive. That could put a nice finish on a season that was over before it even started.

Sorry about that Jim....
As soon as you (your wife) knows the date, let us know. If I'm free, I'll be there (then at the Swift R. to wet a fly before I head home :) )
