last week or so i noticed that the sap hardly flowed, but the days it was wet out like rainy, the vac was higher, ie less leaks, than the days it had been dry? is there an explanation for this?

Could the bark around the tap swell from the water. Sap always flowed better on rainy days because of the warming effect on the tree. I would think that full sap line would seal up better than empty holes.

yea i kinda thought maybe the bark around the tap swells up a bit too but didnt know if anyone else had noticed this also! it seemed to be just related to rain not sap flow, cause didnt have any sap flow lately!

rough or oval shaped holes, loose spouts.
