Tapping road side trees (salt)

Hello everyone. What your opinion on tapping roadside trees where salt is used. I read a report from the University Of Vermont (1987) that showed salt was greater in these trees (sap) as opposed to off road. They said the trees tested were (Roadside sugars in decline vs. healthy sugar bush maples).

I tap alot of roadside trees. salt? who knows... but great tasting sweet trees, so I don't complain!
