My sap sugar content has been pretty low so far this year. I've only gotten above 2% once and I think that was more through willing the hydrometer to float higher than any thing else.
Most days I've been between 1.5 and 2%. How's it looking elsewhere in VT?

1.75% first thing this morning. Hopefully it'll pick up soon.

I work and tap the trees on Green Mountain College's campus. Usually the trees are 4% or higher this time of year. This year they are running about 3.5 %. Our red maples that I tap at home are usually about 3% but have been about 2.5%. I've started buying sap from another guy here on campus. His trees haven't been tapped for a few years and the sap has been at 2%

We have been at 2% even, maybe 2.2% judging by how the RO was running yesterday. That's about early season normal for our trees.
