I just finished connecting my front and back pan for the first time since I drew it up. Forgot to factor in for the pan gasket, but everything lined up pretty well.

Should I put teflon tape on the threads for the coupling?

Thanks,
Sean

No the union has a copper/brass seal that doesnt need teflon. Its hard to put on and will get cut off and the inside will flow down stream. One thing teflon on threads wil act as a lubricant and get things tighter.

I think I went through like 3-4 rolls of teflon tape this year. there is this stuff called Blue monster its awesome. is heavier than the white and hold up to heat better. also use the pink stuff for very hot applications.

but yes definitly use teflon.

I used it on fittings this year. But everything will sugar up pretty quickly anyway.

No need because the fittings get hot pretty quickly and any drips will soon turn to sugar and seal it off.
