press papers don't line up?

trying to set up a filter press- new to me- and the papers I got at Bascoms don't seem to line up with the holes in the plates- am I missing something?

if I line up the holes on one side, the other side only has about 1/3 of the hole open.

the press is a 7" short bank CDL

are there different sized papers for different presses?

Yes there are some different size papers, but if you split the difference they should be fine.

Also when you get a new package of filter papers take a Sharpie and run a couple of lines down the tops across all the papers. It will help in making sure that you have them in right.

Sounds like mixing up the plates on a cream separator. Do the papers for a syrup press come in different sizes. Like small ,medium,large.

fellow maplehaulic Parker came over tonight with some papers from a different manufacturer and the holes line up better- not perfect, but better-

anyone else with a CDL press have a prefered paper brand or supplier?
