Well Mother Nature has been really cruel. The earliest we have had sap flow was Feb 27. Well 10 days ago we were getting sap flow, only problem, our lines weren't up. So we worked in the snow, driving rain, and freezing cold and finally finished putting up lines and putting in our 542 taps. It ran one day and then was too warm. Now for the next couple days, too cold. Looks like Friday and Saturday will flow. Then it looks like 5 days of too warm according to the 10 day forecast. Mother Nature is really mean spirited some times.
Anyway, last night was our first boil. We have sap at 2.8 brix and we are making fancy. Planning on finishing up the sap tonight.
