i been getting 3.3 in my sap and boiled 45 gallons and i made 1.5 gallons of syrup is that about right

you have some very good trees although the sugar content can vary through the season and year to year you have some nice trees

It's good we run 3.1-3.4 on average every year.

If you use the "Rule of 86" and divide 86 by 3.3 you get 26.06 gallons of sap to 1 gallon of syrup. Sounds like you're right on the money. 39 gallons of sap would give you 1½ gallons of syrup with 6 gallons or so of sap still in the pan, sweetened up and ready for your next boil.
